THE ASK
The Divvy bike share program is wildly popular in several Chicago neighborhoods, but ridership lags in many of the city’s more diverse communities. As Divvy looked to expand throughout the city, it needed to understand impediments to ridership and find ways to promote more equitable use of the program.
WHAT WE DID
We partnered with the Chicago Department of Transportation and Sam Schwartz Engineering to develop a citywide marketing strategy. We conducted surveys to better understand perceptions and to create a neighborhood outreach program. One highlight: #DesignADivvy, which offered high school students a chance to have their designs, representing their neighborhood, on a Divvy bike.
