Best Design of 2009

These were some of the best logos, branding campaigns and designs that I have seen this year.

chicago 2016

Chicago Olympic Logo Although botched the first go around with the inclusion of the no-no torch, the Chicago Olympic bid identity and subsequent branding campaign was near perfect. I loved the colorful ads, the typography was clean and beautiful, and it made me proud of our city and proved that Chicago could produce world-class design.

melbourne

City of Melbourne Amazing rebrand for the City of Melbourne. Thoughtful branding with a cool gridsystem, smart graphic elements and brilliant use of color.

USVINewLogo

US Virgin Islands Lots of points for originality, interesting typography and great colors. The concept was to create a “Mocko Jumbie” character that symbolizes the vibrancy of the people and their cultures.

meredith_logo_detail

Meredith Corporation Vibrant colors, new lower case typography and an overall softer (and much improved) look.

truvia-logo

Truvia The logo is fresh and smart with great clean packaging to go with it. Move overs Splenda, there is a new sweetner on the shelf.

coreCore Cider A very pretty logo with a great bottle design. Don’t you just want one now?
