May 27, 2010 – Chicago, Illinois – Think you’re an expert on Cook County celebrities?

A new exhibit* and website from the Cook County Clerk’s Office will put your knowledge to the test.

The Sweet Home Cook County exhibit is on display now through July 22 in the Pedway between City Hall and the Daley Center.

The 12 display cases feature a timeline, photos and memorabilia from Chicago-area luminaries from Nobel Prize-winning author Ernest Hemingway to Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson.

The project’s website also has a searchable database of nearly 150 celebrities, complete with the hospital they were born in, their grammar and elementary schools and a brief biography.

Clerk David Orr says Cook County shouldn’t take its legacy of homegrown celebrities for granted.
